Bridging visas
- Bridging visa A (BVA) (subclass 010): This visa allows you to stay temporally in Australia after your current substantive visa finishes and while the Department processes your substantive visa application.
- Bridging visa B (BVB) (subclass 020): This temporary visa allows you to travel outside Australia and come back within a specified travel period while your application for a substantive visa is being processed.
- Bridging visa C (BVC) (subclass 030): This visa allows you to stay temporally in Australia while the Department processes your substantive visa application. This subclass will enable you to make a substantive visa application when you do not hold a current substantive visa.
- Bridging visa D (BVD) (subclasses 040-041): This temporary visa allows you to stay in Australia for a short period without a substantive visa; meanwhile, you complete a valid substantive visa application within a maximum of five days.
- Bridging visa E (BVE) (subclasses 050-051): This subclass, allows you to stay lawfully in Australia when your substantive visa has ended, and you required specific time to wait for an immigration decision, finalise your immigration matter or make arrangements to leave the country.
Visitor and tourist visa (subclass 600)
This visa will allow you to travel to Australia either 3, 6 or 12 months depending on your circumstances in the following streams:
- Sponsored family
- Frequent Traveller
- Business visitor activities
- Tourist (applying in or outside Australia)
- Approved Destination Status for People’s Republic of China
Working Holiday / Work and Holiday Visa
This visa is for young people (aged 18 to 30 years) from certain countries that want to work during their holidays in Australia; you can extend this visa for two more years if you meet the criteria. Depending on the country, you will be able to apply for Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) or Working Holiday visa (subclass 417).
Distinguished Talent Visa (subclass 858)
This subclass is a permanent visa for people who have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in the areas of a profession, sport, arts, academia and research.
Bridging visas
